PROJECT HIGHLIGHT

Renovations make a difference in Ozaukee county

NARI Members work together to help remodel a local women’s shelter

Advocates of Ozaukee has been changing lives for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children for the past 39 years. The shelter building is an older residential farmhouse that sleeps 16 people. The most used room in the house is the kitchen. The space was not efficient or up to date to service the needs of the temporary residents. The kitchen needed upgrades in electrical, refrigeration, dishwashing and opening of space with flooring to accommodate ADA requirements. The ultimate goal was to have a safe, healthy place where families can gather to celebrate their freedom and support for each other.

NARI Milwaukee Foundation President Tracy Grosspietch, CKBR, UDCP, of AB&K created the final kitchen design and coordinated donations of labor and materials from other NARI Milwaukee members for the redesigned kitchen.

President Grosspietch, alongside fellow NARI Milwaukee members and with financial support from the NARI Milwaukee Foundation, completed this kitchen renovation project in September of 2019.

Thank you to the following NARI Milwaukee member companies who donated time, materials, and expertise to complete this project
